Nestled in the rolling hills of Southeastern Ohio, Lost Acres Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation was established in 1994, as an alternative to euthanasia, slaughter, or just being left in fields to die.
LAHRR is a safe haven for abused, neglected, severely injured, or blind horses.
Donkeys are also accepted into our program.
Champions are considered, by most, as first place winners of shows, races, or contests; someone better than all the others. At Lost Acres Horse Rescue, we see all our horses as Champions for a different reason: each horse at our facility has fought their most gallant battle and won...their battle for life! It was once said that "A Champion is one who gets up - even when he can't." Our horses have each one proven that they are truly Champions!
Lost Acres Horse Rescue does not have horses for adoption. Each horse that comes to our facility remains with us for the duration of their remaining years.
